3 Months

Jonas is:
- saying "mom"- skeptical?- so is my Dad, right now "m" is Jonas' favorite consonant, sometimes he gets in to an "m" trance with a series of "mmmmm", "ma", "mom" and even the odd "momma" and there is one "mommee" on record
- doesn't just bat at his chair toys- he grabs them too,
- has the funniest laugh, it sounds kind of forced
- hasn't rolled over again since "the day" and sometimes "tummy time" makes him grumpty, he's gets frustrated easily when he can't do something well (he gets this from his mom), clapping and cheering "yay! you did it!" after every attempt helps put a smile back on his face
- bullies his poor little sleep sheep on the side of his crib, he usually just talks to it but there must have been a falling out between them the other day because I caught Jonas pummeling his "lambie" mercilessly
- his favorite toys are his rattle and crinkly tag blanket, he is getting very adept at shaking his rattle but not so adept at fitting it in his little mouth
- still worries about being fed, I really wish he'd start showing a little faith in my mothering here
- fights sleep, he rubs his eyes, shakes his head back and forth, and gets kind of fussy when he is tired
- I let him cry himself to sleep for the first time the other night, it was early in the morning and I had just fed and changed him so I knew he just wanted to play, but poor Daddy and Mommy needed to sleep
- his usual feeding schedule at night is between 2 and 3 a.m. and then between 5 and 6 a.m. but he has almost slept through the night twice (I had to get up to give him his soother twice each time)
- is blowing bubbles and drooling like crazy
- is starting to exercise more in his Jolly Jumper, the other day he kept marching with the odd intermittent jump
- he loves being held up in the air and getting kisses
- he stays awake for the first 15-20 minutes of his daily walks now
- doesn't make eye contact with Matt and I if he is grumpy- we will try to look him in the eye but he'll keep turning his head away and averting his gaze
- likes story time, we both lay on our backs on a blanket and he curiously looks at the pictures while I read- I think he's going to be a major bookworm like his mom (I'll have to make sure he doesn't sneak to his bedroom doorway at night and read by the dim light in the hall or read while walking to school- dangerous! seeing how zoned out to everything I become when I read a book it is a miracle I wasn't hit by a car as a kid)
